This week I have joined a very noble organisation called Sikhcess. Sikhcess launched in January 2007 with the aim of promoting the basic Sikh principles of public service, sharing, community, inclusiveness, and equality for humankind. Sikhcess is involved in numerous charitable community efforts in hopes of making this world a better place, one small step at a time.

Sikhcess

Sikhcess has launched various compaigns. The most successful has been the ‘Feed the Homeless’ campaign initially aimed to deliver 15,000 food packages to Vancouver’s homeless population within 12 months. The entire Sikh community rallied behind the program in Vancouver, and within only 9 short months, more than 20,000 packages had been delivered to the streets of the city. In less than 12 months, the Sikhcess ‘Feed the Homeless’ campaign had already delivered more than 70,000 food packages throughout the United States and Canada.

Sikhcess has now gone international with campaigns being held in Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, UK & the USA. As part of the UK team I plan to provide food packages to my local areas: London & Essex. The first UK ‘Feed the Homeless’ campaign will be taking place on the 1st of March in Birmingham. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Birmingham campaign but the best of luck! We are also looking to establish the ‘Bundles of Warmth‘ campaign in the UK too. This campaign provides the homeless with blankets, jackets & jumpers.

As part of the London & Essex campaign I have started to do research on local homeless shelters & regional statistics. We always worry about the homeless abroad but never care to help our own needy. I’m a firm believer in planning & this campaign will definately test our logistical skill. We are all teaming up with individuals, small charity organisations and local Gurdwara’s to provide this service.

I have always wanted to do something to contribute to soceity and help the unfortunate. I’m happy that I found Sikhcess. Sikhcess is not like other organisations which try to promote religion. Sikhcess simply promotes good human qualities through demonstration. I’m young, I don’t have a full driving licence but if I can do it - so can you! To be involved click here.
