SEO (search engine optimization) is a real pain for anyone who boards the boat of web development. Ever since the introduction of this new blog I seem to have lost my page rank. This has cost me dearly as previously when you typed in Varinder, Varinder Singh, Varinder Bola or even Varinder Singh Bola in Google this website would appear right at the top.

Hopefully I can regain my position as the top result once again but it’s such a nuisance configuring your website so works well with search engines!

There are many people who have there own methods to gain a better page rank. After years of trial and error I personally believe it’s all down to the following:

- the use of <h1></h1> tags.
- user friendly URL’s (static URL’s).
- inward links.

Out of the three targets the hardest is getting ‘inward links’. Usually this requires major sunk costs (advertising) and a lot of going around similar websites and exchanging links. To be quite frank, I can’t be bothered to go through such a lengthy process and have other people advertise there UNTRUSTWORTHY products on my website. After all, I do have a reputation to think about.

Having said that, I do have one advertisement up on the front page. It advertises online streaming of TV Channels. Whether I should be concerned about the moral & legal implications of this, I don’t know. However, I certainly do know this - “it’s a damn good service!”.
